Frequently Asked Questions
Sizing
GUJA shoes are true to size unless otherwise indicated on the product page. Each product page includes a size table, so check it before ordering, as fit can vary slightly between styles depending on the construction and last.
If you are between sizes, sizing up is usually the safer choice for closed styles like loafers and moccasins. For strappy or adjustable styles, your usual size will typically work.
If you're still unsure, our team is happy to advise — contact details are on the Contact page.
Most GUJA styles run true to European sizing. That said, fit can vary slightly between styles depending on the last, construction, and material — a leather moccasin and a slingback heel fit differently by nature. The size table on each product page will always have the most accurate guidance for that specific shoe.

Product
GUJA uses real leather and other materials that meet EU certification standards across the full range. The focus is on materials that perform well in regular wear: leather that softens and conforms naturally to the foot, breathable linings, soles with genuine support. Specific material details for each style are listed on the individual product page.
GUJA works with small, specialist factories — many of them family businesses that have been producing shoes since the 1950s. Production at this scale involves a significant amount of skilled handwork, particularly in lasting, stitching, and finishing. These are not artisan ateliers producing shoes one at a time, but they are not factories in the mass-market sense either. Each pair goes through hands-on quality checks before it leaves production.
Good leather shoes last significantly longer with basic, consistent care. After each wear, allow the leather to breathe and recover before storing. Use a soft brush or dry cloth to remove surface dust and dirt. Apply a leather conditioner every few weeks to keep the leather supple — this is especially important in dry weather or after exposure to rain. Store your shoes in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight; a shoe tree or stuffed toe helps them hold their shape.
For suede or nubuck styles, use a suede brush to restore the nap and a suede protector spray before the first wear. Avoid water where possible and treat stains quickly with a dry cloth rather than rubbing.
Brand
GUJA's production is based in Italy — primarily in Tuscany, Marche, and Naples, three regions with long and well-established shoemaking traditions. All materials across the range are EU certified. GUJA maintains direct, long-term relationships with its production partners rather than sourcing through intermediaries.
GUJA is an Italian footwear brand at the premium end of the market — made with genuine craft, using EU-certified materials, through specialist production partners many of which have decades of experience. The brand is not positioned as a traditional luxury house. It is positioned as something arguably more useful: well-made shoes at a price that reflects the product honestly, designed to be worn regularly and kept for years. Whether that qualifies as luxury depends on how you define the word.
